Complete fit out including interior design, build, project management, air conditioning and office furniture
New classrooms and a gym were among the features installed during refurbishment works at a Nottingham school.
WorkBox was proud to partner local building firm Robert Woodhead on this five week fit out project at Bulwell Academy. The building work started in early August and was completed before the end of the school summer holidays. This project included the building of five new classrooms, four office/meeting rooms and splitting a large open space to incorporate a gym.
The programme saw the installation of new partitions in various locations around the school, which were designed with acoustic qualities to reduce sound travel between classrooms. WorkBox also installed a new teaching kitchen area within the ‘Life Skills’ classrooms as well as manufactured bespoke door sets to match the existing doors at the school.
Rob Darbyshire, of WorkBox, said: “We were very proud to be selected to carry out this work. It is always special working on projects within the Education sector because you know that the works will further enhance the learning environment and in particular, this academy’s additional spaces will definitely be used on a daily basis to provide bespoke teaching areas for learning.”
The Bulwell Academy is situated in the north of Nottingham and caters for 1,050 11 to 16 year olds with up to a further 250 places for 16 to 18 year olds students. The academy has a business and enterprise specialism and has local business partnerships.
