“Already a very modern school, it was great to see the new classrooms take shape and what this meant for the pupils at the school.”

Case Study

The creation of a new science laboratory was completed by WorkBox during the summer holidays at a Leicester school.

The four week fit-out project to convert classrooms at Samworth Tudor Grange Academy was awarded to WorkBox by Bellrock FM after stiff competition from two other contractors.

Our crew converted two classrooms into a Resistant Materials laboratory, which included removing partition walls and corridor, installing LED lighting and a built in benching system and decoration work.

We also refurbished a former staff room into a large classroom by redesigning the existing layout and toilet facilities. Other work included the installation of new bench style desking around the room to create more useable working space. Finally we installed new trunking in the finance room. The project was completed in time for the new school term in September.

Project Manager at WorkBox, Nicki Brotherston, said: “It was a delight to work with Bellrock and the Tudor Grange Academy.  Already a very modern school, it was great to see the new classrooms take shape and what this meant for the pupils at the school.  Although the time frames were short due to working outside of the school term, the team pulled out all the stops to ensure this was completed within the tight schedule.”

The Church of England school is home to over 900 pupils aged from three to 16 years old. The school, which is located in Eyres Monsell, Leicester, specialises in Food, Business and Enterprise and became part of the Tudor Grange Academies Trust in January 2016.
