Helping to expand the world’s only dedicated Forge World store for an internationally renowned model making firm was all in a day’s work for WorkBox. The Games Workshop engaged us to provide refurbishment services to their global HQ head office in Nottingham, which is visited by thousands of enthusiasts from across the globe every year. The fit-out work included the expansion of their Forge World office area to increase workspace and provide an improved working environment. The project also saw the creation of meeting space, 3D printing room and stores as well as open plan office workspace. During the six week programme, the WorkBox crew built new blockwork partitioning, decoration, ceilings, lighting, decoration and flooring.

Games Workshop, whose most popular brands include Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000, is the largest and most successful hobby miniatures company in the world. It also produce The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit table top battle games. The fantastical miniatures are collected by millions of fans all over the world, who enjoy modelling, painting and playing games with their growing armies of soldiers. The company also design and sell books and accessories to support many different collecting hobbies. The global HQ and design centre of Games Workshop, which has an annual turnover in excess of £120 million, is based in Lenton, Nottingham. The base also houses manufacturing and distributions facilities.

The company now has more than 430 Games Workshop and Warhammer stores across the world and over 4,000 stockists around the globe which supply miniatures, paints, books and accessories from the worlds of Warhammer. The original company founded more than 30 years ago by three game fanatics who began selling handmade, classic wooden games from their homes, In 1981, Games Workshop helped to found Citadel Miniatures Limited, a manufacturer of metal miniatures based at Newark-on-Trent. A few years later they moved to their current site on Willow Road off Lenton Lane. The company went on to create Warhammer World, it’s premier events centre, which houses the Warhammer World Store, Citadel Store, the Black Library Store and the Forge World Store as well as an exhibition centre and events hall. The site has become a place of pilgrimage for thousands of miniature enthusiasts from around the world each year.
