Role:
Estimator/Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £25-£35K Depending on Experience
37.5 hrs per week
Tuxford, Nottinghamshire

Purpose of Role:
WorkBox is an expanding company that specialises in commercial property design & fit out, refurbishment, civil work and office furniture supply. The post holder will be required to provide total support to a demanding Project Team. The role will also require the successful applicant to maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors and other suppliers on an on-going basis. The position will be mainly office based in the office with site visits where necessary.

Key Duties:
To provide estimating services, cost management, purchasing, project support and supply chain management for large and small projects.

The role will include, but not be limited to:

MAIN DUTIES
• Analysis of client tender and specification documents
• Estimating work of all sizes fit out, construction and furniture
• Breakdown of key joinery and building packages into labour and materials
• Packaging, tendering and analysis of sub-contractor packages
• Supplier negotiation
• Materials research, procurement and supply
• Attend client tender meetings
• Prepare budgets
• Prepare and finalise tender documents and presentations with the Commercial Team
• Produce project programmes for tender submissions

OTHER DUTIES
• Site visits to monitor progress, valuations and small works
• Liaison with Architects & Designers to obtain full design information to tender
• Liaison with the Project Manager to ensure “Total Project Management”
• Liaison with the Accounts in regards to financial forecasting
• Any other reasonable duties
• Management of supply chain and supplier performance in conjunction with Project Manager

Essential/Desirable Experience:
• Experience in estimating of fit out work and construction
• Proven track record with in excess of 5-6 years experience in a similar role and environment
• Sound knowledge of construction techniques and materials
• Experience in reading technical drawings and specification
• Experience in working on complicated multi-faceted projects
• Have knowledge of CDM regulations and the responsibilities on the contractor
• The post would suit someone willing to take the next step in their career to lead the costing function within a construction business.
