The Brief
WorkBox UK was appointed to deliver a full office refurbishment for Widgit, an educational software company known for its vibrant visual communication tools. The brief? To design a fun, inclusive, and highly functional workspace that echoed the brand’s playful identity while meeting the practical needs of a growing, multi-disciplinary team. Flexibility, accessibility, and visual impact were all key priorities.

How We Made It Happen
We began with a complete strip-out of the existing fit-out, creating a blank canvas to reimagine the space from the ground up. A new layout was introduced to promote collaboration, concentration, and creativity in equal measure—featuring distinct zones for breakout sessions, focused work, and formal meetings.

One of the project’s defining features is the installation of large, folding walls. These were designed to give the space maximum adaptability, allowing teams to quickly open up or divide areas as needed. Whether used to create a large event space or section off smaller work hubs, the folding partitions provide seamless flexibility without compromising on aesthetics or acoustics.

Colour plays a central role in bringing the Widgit brand to life. Rainbow-striped carpets and cabinetry, colour-coded chairs, and playful accents give the workspace an unmistakable energy. This is balanced with biophilic elements including ceiling-mounted greenery, potted plants, and acoustic green walls that soften the visual intensity and boost wellbeing.

The office also features a fully fitted kitchen with timber worktops, vibrant splash backs, and modern lighting. Multiple meeting rooms, collaborative tables, soft seating, and quiet one-to-one pods were all included to cater to different working styles.

The Outcome
The finished result is a bold, energising space that doesn’t just look great—it performs. Thanks to clever design details like the folding walls, Widgit’s team now has the ability to adapt their environment at a moment’s notice. It’s a workspace that celebrates the company’s visual identity while supporting deep work, creative thinking, and everyday operations with ease.
